As a leader within Australia’s resource recovery industry, ResourceCo prides itself on contributing to the advancement of industry, including being part of events like the Australian-Made Recovered Resources Showcase in Canberra last night.

The event was hosted by the National Waste and Recycling Industry Council, and the Australian Council of Recycling at Parliament House.

ResourceCo Recycling and Waste Chief Executive Officer Brad Lemmon, who attended the event, highlighted the importance of the opportunity to further educate key stakeholders on the work being done by the resource recovery sector.

“As our industry continues to grow and innovate, events like the Recovered Resources Showcase, enable the sharing of learnings and the chance to offer market-orientated insights to our political leaders in Canberra,” he said.

Chief Executive Officer of ResourceCo’s tyre recycling business, Tyrecycle, Jim Fairweather, who was also in attendance at the showcase, emphasised the benefits of working closely with political stakeholders.

“For the resource recovery industry to reach its full potential, it must bring stakeholders like developers of government policy and decision makers along for the journey,” he said.

“The policy landscape of governments across the country plays a large role in maximising the circularity of all materials. With a national target of 80% resource recovery by 2030, government-led measures such as landfill levies and increased procurement of recycled material will be vital mechanisms for success.”

ResourceCo and Tyrecycle were part of the 25 organisations selected to exhibit at the event.
