As a leader within the resource recovery industry, ResourceCo prides itself on producing quality products and services for its customers.
With this commitment in mind, ResourceCo has launched its newly developed Environmental Product Declarations for its recycled aggregate products to support customers in measuring their environmental performance.
Environmental credentials and emissions reporting are emerging as key requirements in federal, state and local government procurement policies and tenders. As such ResourceCo has recognised the need for its customers to be equipped with the best tools to provide the information requested throughout the supply chain.
Brad Lemmon, CEO Recycling and Waste at ResourceCo, says the EPDs are a critical tool as businesses seek to understand the environmental impacts and emissions associated with the products they use.
“It’s one thing to talk about recycled products having environmental benefits but not all products can claim to be the same,” he says.
“These EPDs provide independently verified environmental impact data associated with the production of our range of recycled products.
“It provides our customers with a very high degree of confidence that the sustainability and environmental benefits we’re attributing to our products are bona fide.”
ResourceCo Environmental Development Manager Mitchell Bacon said the aim has been to make it easier for end users to compare ResourceCo’s recycled products with alternatives, including virgin materials.
“Not everyone applies the same degree of rigour and efficiency of process to maximise environmental benefits.
“If a recycler has an inefficient process and is consuming a lot of energy or recovering resources in a sub-optimal manner, the sustainability benefits can be significantly diminished.
“ResourceCo has led the process for EPDs because they are an important way to independently verify and demonstrate credibility within the market.”
