ResourceCo is removing the hassle of having to sort mixed waste with new processing capabilities across Melbourne.
The new sorting plants, in Brooklyn and Hampton Park, add to existing soil, construction and demolition waste recycling services, with both sites now offering this market-changing ‘mixed waste’ recycling capability.
Sales Manager Garreth Dorey said ResourceCo’s new mixed waste offering is making it easier for waste materials to be handled and disposed at our customers sites – without the need for it to be sorted.
“We’re changing the way waste is managed in Melbourne. For years recyclers have made waste generators separate soils from rock, brick, concrete and other less preferred waste streams. Not anymore. ResourceCo’s new capability means mixed waste can come straight to us for separation, sorting and recycling,” he said.
From mobile demolition plant operators to skip bin services providers – a wide range of customers can leave their unsorted waste with ResourceCo, who’s experienced staff and sorting technology will take care of the rest using specialised equipment.
“There is no need for people to sort and dispose of it themselves, we’re here to make life easier with a cost-effective solution at our strategically located sites.
“We can save people time that they would otherwise spend sorting their waste – meaning our customers can get back on the road sooner, adding capacity back into their businesses.”
Dorey also highlighted the sustainability benefits of working with ResourceCo in addition to the convenient process.
“Not only can ResourceCo provide convenience in the disposal of mixed waste, but we also provide sustainable outcomes for the material,” he said.
“The material is sorted and the ferrous and non-ferrous metals, inert fractions (bricks, concrete etc), timber, plastics, more traditional C&I material and non-recyclables are removed.
“All salvaged metals are then sent to specialist metal recyclers, while the inert fractions are recycled on-site and resupplied to the civil construction market as an alternative to traditional quarried products.
“Other waste streams accepted are asphalt, concrete and masonry, which are recycled into rubbles and road base materials, and clean, wet and mixed fill.”
