Contained within ResourceCo’s Hampton Park resource recovery site is an end-of-life quarry, approximately 1.2km east of the intersection of Glasscocks Road and the South Gippsland Highway (opposite the Cranbourne Golf Club entrance).

The old quarry was established and operated by another company, and quarrying operations ceased in 2009.

What’s happening?

ResourceCo is overseeing the active rehabilitation and closure phase of the quarry located within our Hampton Park site. The objective of this current phase is to restore the quarry in an environmentally sound manner. We acknowledge the need for these works to be considerate of our neighbours, particularly when they occur at night.

To assist, we have implemented, continue to monitor and adapt, operational measures to minimise disruptions.

How long will this work take?

This phase of the rehabilitation program will occur Day/Night, Monday to Friday with an estimated completion period during Spring 2025. To reduce the likelihood of dust impacting nearby residents, works are being prioritized during wetter months. This approach will also reduce the overall timeline of the project.

What’s being done to reduce the potential impact of night operations?

Certain site operations are either ceased or extensively restricted during periods of night work, the steps we have already taken include:

Sound-based mitigation measures:

Dust-based mitigation measures:
